For generations, synagogues have honored the memories of loved ones through Yahrzeit Memorial Boards. These plaques became sacred places where families could pause, remember, and feel connected to those who came before them.

As a community without walls, HaNefesh does not have a building for a traditional memorial wall. That has never meant we value remembrance any less. Instead, it has inspired us to reimagine how we honor those we love.

Today, we are proud to introduce the HaNefesh Yahrzeit Online Memorial Board.

Rather than existing in a single location, our memorial board lives on our website, making it accessible wherever you are. Whether you live nearby or across the country, are traveling, or gathering with family, you can visit the board to reflect and remember. Family members and friends can do the same, creating a living memorial that is not limited by geography.

This is another way HaNefesh is reimagining Jewish tradition for the way we live today—honoring the past while embracing the possibilities of the future.

You may choose from two memorial plaque options:

• Single-Name Memorial Plaque – Includes your loved one’s name and yahrzeit date.
• Biography Memorial Plaque – Includes your loved one’s name, yahrzeit date, a personal biography or remembrance, and up to six photographs, creating a rich tribute that can be shared with family and friends for generations.

Like traditional memorial boards, each plaque becomes part of our community’s ongoing remembrance. It is a meaningful way to honor a loved one’s memory, preserve their story, and ensure their life continues to inspire future generations.

As we observe yahrzeits each Shabbat and gather for Yizkor services throughout the year, we remember those whose lives continue to shape our own. The HaNefesh Yahrzeit Online Memorial Board extends that sacred act of remembrance beyond our worship services, providing a permanent place where family and friends can visit, reflect, and celebrate a loved one’s life throughout the year.
